Why Worms are awesome animals!

We have all seen them, they can contract extract to help them move across the pavement, as well as they have a slimy coating along their skin. Worms have been seen by all of North America, rather it be in a garden or on the streets on a rainy day. They actually come out during rainy days due to the fact that their holes get flooded with water and if they where to stay underground they would drown or suffocate. Worms are very great wonderful creatures for our forests and gardens because they help bread down composted foods and turn it into highly nutritious feces which plants use for growth. Worms are also unique because they have multiple heart and can still live after being cut in half, they also have the ability to reconstruct themselves. Due to their extraordinary feature this creature is often used in various experiments for basic Biology classes, and is just fascinating.

Spiders are Amazing Animals

Calm down Peter Parker, where not talking about spider man, where talking about animals on this blog, and what makes an animal so special and unique! This post will talk about the spider and why it's so unique! The spider has to be one of the most feared animals on the planet, yet it is so small! There are many Hollywood films depicting the spider as a blood thirsty animal on a rampage. It's exoskeleton insect that is a cold blooded animal. It's usually feared because of it's unique ability to shoot webs and hang from them. It usually captures it's pray by setting up a web from one area to another, and then when a insect flies by they will get entangled in the web and get stuck there. They mostly only easy insects with wings, so anything from a house fly to a wasp.  This is why I love them so much. Spiders are the awesome because they control the insect population and without them, we'd have cockroaches and ants, and flies all over our homes infecting us with their grossness. There are only about a dozen types of spiders thought to be poisonous and most of them live in hot regions in South Africa. The most famous spider for being venomous is the black widow.

Here are 10 facts why the spider is such an amazing animal!

1) It's unsure just how many species of spiders there are but there are about 34,000 recorded to this day.

2) Most spiders will live for about a year.

3) Male spiders are usually a lot smaller then female spiders due to females having a womb for her eggs.

4) Male spiders are also thought to be less colourful then females.

5) A spiders egg contains as much DNA as four humans combined.

6) A spider cannot physically die of natural causes.

7) The largest recorded spider was 8 feet long and when found it had legs which where broken due to it's own weight.

8) Approximately 2,800 years ago a group of spiders where collected in china and they still live to this day.

9) 90% of retail clothing when purchased contain spider eggs.

10) Harvard Neurologists have discovered that an average spider's brain possesses a greater mental capacity than the world's most brilliant scientists. If their brains didn't lack a cognitive lobe, they'd be more intelligent than Einstein

Hope you enjoyed these facts and post as much as I did and I hope you realize how much of a unique animal the spider is. Please check my blog for more post's relating to animals and what makes them so unique! Enjoy and here is one last picture of a spider.

Why Snakes are awesome animals

Hate them or love them snakes are amazing animals and should be thought of as very nice and interesting creatures. Their found usually under rocks, because they like cold moist areas to form a habitat, and eat anything from bugs to mouses. Their jaw can open up wide because it has two separate joints for it to expand and dislocate the bone and relocate it when closing, but don't try this because you can seriously hurt or injure yourself! Snakes are very unique animals for having this feature and this is usually what makes them so scary. In reality they really are not scary or harmful, only have 2% of the worlds snakes are actually poisonous and your more likely to die in a car accident then by a snake bite. Besides most snakes will only strike when threatened by a presence, unfortunately snakes can think of other animals as a threat when really their just passing by. Which is usually how innocent people get attacked, and struck. To me having this animal as a pet is just amazing although it can get expensive! See picture below to see this animal stretching/dislocating it's jaw.

Why cats are so awesome!

You can never go wrong with buying a cat! They are cute and innocent. They have pointy ears (for the most part) and have whiskers with a cute button nose! Cats can be both lazy and playful animals depending on the breed of your cat you have purchased and their habits. Most cats are curious creatures and like to hide in tight small closed in areas whether it be a hole in the wall, or under a couch/furniture. This habit that just about all cats have is rather awesome and annoying when trying to find them. Cats do however have a reputation for their claws which are actually not that big of a deal because they can easily be clipped, I suggest doing it with a professional! Cats also how ever do not like baths, or water in general and when ever cats feel threatened they will usually run or put their claws out. You can usually tell when a cat is angry and ready to strike because its back as well as tail stick up in the air, along with their hair on their body. When ever cats do this you generally want to stay away from them if you want to avoid your skin being ripped up.

On a more happy mood, there is a picture of a cat and here are 10 interesting facts I found, and it will prove to you cats are awesome!

5) Cats hate the water because their fur does not insulate well when it’s wet.

6) A cat usually has about 12 whiskers on each side of its face.

7) The little tufts of hair in a cat’s ear that help keep out dirt direct sounds into the ear and are known as "Ear Furnishings."

8) A cat lover is called an Ailurophilia!

9) The oldest cat on record was Crème Puff from Austin, Texas, who lived from 1967 to August 6, 2005.

10) A cat will typically live 20 years.
